Final Cut Pro already has AI for the finishing (transcribing, isolating a person or enhancing light and colour), but it doesn’t cull a whole wedding or leave you a first cut built to your music. WedCut does that step first, on your computer, on your Mac, and opens the edit in Final Cut with your original clips linked.
| Task | In Final Cut | With WedCut, before you open it |
|---|---|---|
| Watching hundreds of clips | It helps you search and view, but the cull is on you. | Reviews every clip —scene, moment, emotion, quality and time— and sets aside the shaky or out-of-focus ones. |
| Putting the day in order | You organise it yourself, in bins or folders. | Places every clip in its part of the day and at its real time, even if you shot with several cameras. |
| The first cut of the wedding | You build it from scratch. | Builds the teaser, the short film or the feature film to your song, in Narrative or Musical. |
| Vows and speeches | Transcribes what’s said, if you ask it to. | Transcribes them and puts them to work: the cut lands on the exact phrase and you find a moment by what was said. |
| Grade, sound and finishing | You do it here, with its own tools. | Leaves it alone: you get the project ready for you to finish. |
Add the folders from every camera. WedCut tells you the price before you start and analyses on your computer: your videos are not uploaded.
You see what was picked and what was discarded, shot by shot. Rescue, reject and find a moment by typing “rings” or a line from the vows.
Which video? (teaser, short film or a 10 to 25-minute feature film) · Which song? · How do we tell it? (Narrative or Musical).
Swap any shot for another from the same moment, and in the WedCut editor trim, move or mark Favorite before you export.
You export an FCPXML and in Final Cut Pro go to File › Import › XML: you get the project already cut with your original clips linked, ready for the grade, the sound and your signature.
One main button that tells you what’s next. Basic view to cut fast and Advanced view with every setting.
Which video, which song and how we tell it: Narrative, with the day in order, or Musical, on the peaks of the song.
“See all” shows the whole moment by time or by score, with a preview, and “Put here” drops it in without rebuilding the edit.
In a dedicated screen: trim, move, adjust the speed or the in point, and mark Favorite or Reject.
Vows and speeches transcribed line by line: type a word and the shot comes up.
If you’d rather cut it yourself, take the whole wedding to your editor by scene, with the discarded clips in their own folder.
More detail in how it exports to each editor, the first cut and pricing.
No. It’s a separate app, on your Mac: it doesn’t install anything inside Final Cut. It exports a file that you import from the File menu.
An FCPXML. When you import it you get the edit already cut, with your original clips linked, ready to finish.
No, they work together. Final Cut’s AI helps you with the finishing, shot by shot; WedCut does the step before, with the whole wedding: the cull, the order of the day and the first cut.
Final Cut Pro only exists on Mac, and WedCut runs on Apple silicon Macs and Intel Macs. If you ever edit on Windows, WedCut also exports to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve.
No. Your videos are not uploaded: they are analysed on your computer and only individual frames of each clip go to the AI.
You pay per wedding based on the amount of footage (size S, M or L) and you know the price before you start. Re-editing and exporting are not charged separately.
Create your account, download the app and open Final Cut with the first cut already done.
