AI for wedding editing in Premiere Pro: the step Premiere doesn’t do

Premiere Pro already has AI for the finishing (transcribing, reframing, cleaning up audio or extending a shot), but it doesn’t cull a whole wedding or leave you a first cut built to your music. WedCut does that step first, on your computer, on Mac or Windows, and opens the edit in Premiere with your original clips linked.

What Premiere does, and what WedCut does before it

TaskIn PremiereWith WedCut, before you open it
Watching hundreds of clipsIt helps you search and view, but the cull is on you.Reviews every clip —scene, moment, emotion, quality and time— and sets aside the shaky or out-of-focus ones.
Putting the day in orderYou organise it yourself, in bins or folders.Places every clip in its part of the day and at its real time, even if you shot with several cameras.
The first cut of the weddingYou build it from scratch.Builds the teaser, the short film or the feature film to your song, in Narrative or Musical.
Vows and speechesTranscribes what’s said, if you ask it to.Transcribes them and puts them to work: the cut lands on the exact phrase and you find a moment by what was said.
Grade, sound and finishingYou do it here, with its own tools.Leaves it alone: you get the project ready for you to finish.
Step by step

From footage to Premiere, step by step

  1. Import the wedding and let it analyse

Add the folders from every camera. WedCut tells you the price before you start and analyses on your computer: your videos are not uploaded.

  2. Review the selection

You see what was picked and what was discarded, shot by shot. Rescue, reject and find a moment by typing “rings” or a line from the vows.

  3. Answer three questions and build the edit

Which video? (teaser, short film or a 10 to 25-minute feature film) · Which song? · How do we tell it? (Narrative or Musical).

  4. Change whatever doesn’t fit

Swap any shot for another from the same moment, and in the WedCut editor trim, move or mark Favorite before you export.

  5. Open it in Premiere

You export an XML and in Premiere Pro go to File › Import: you get the sequence already cut with your original clips linked, ready for the grade, the sound and your signature.

What WedCut gives you

Two steps

Your wedding · Your edit

One main button that tells you what’s next. Basic view to cut fast and Advanced view with every setting.

Edit

Three questions

Which video, which song and how we tell it: Narrative, with the day in order, or Musical, on the peaks of the song.

Swap

Any shot from the moment

“See all” shows the whole moment by time or by score, with a preview, and “Put here” drops it in without rebuilding the edit.

Editor

Fine-tune before you export

In a dedicated screen: trim, move, adjust the speed or the in point, and mark Favorite or Reject.

Search

A moment by what was said

Vows and speeches transcribed line by line: type a word and the shot comes up.

No edit

Your wedding, sorted

If you’d rather cut it yourself, take the whole wedding to your editor by scene, with the discarded clips in their own folder.

Quick questions

Is WedCut a Premiere Pro plugin?+

No. It’s a separate app, on Mac or Windows: it doesn’t install anything inside Premiere. It exports a file that you import from the File menu.

What file does Premiere open?+

A Premiere XML. When you import it you get the sequence already cut, with your original clips linked, ready to finish.

Does it replace the AI already built into Premiere?+

No, they work together. Premiere’s AI helps you with the finishing, shot by shot; WedCut does the step before, with the whole wedding: the cull, the order of the day and the first cut.

Does it work on Mac and Windows?+

Yes: on Apple silicon Macs, Intel Macs and Windows 10 or 11 PCs, just like Premiere Pro.

Are my videos uploaded to the cloud?+

No. Your videos are not uploaded: they are analysed on your computer and only individual frames of each clip go to the AI.

How much does it cost?+

You pay per wedding based on the amount of footage (size S, M or L) and you know the price before you start. Re-editing and exporting are not charged separately.
