WedCut does the heavy lifting — sifting thousands of clips, ordering them, assembling the first cut — and you bring the judgement: you review the pool clip by clip, mark green or red, ask for replacements, and finish colour, rhythm and your signature in your editor. What the AI produces is a first cut to argue about, not a final piece.

No. WedCut is a separate application that runs on your machine and works through your footage before you open your editor. When it finishes it exports FCPXML and EDL: you open that file in Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Premiere and the first cut appears on your timeline, with your original clips linked. It installs nothing inside your editor and does not change how you work in it.

The rule, measured on real weddings: each moment that makes the cut runs about 5 seconds. With 90 clips analysed the ceiling is around 7 minutes; with 250, about 20; with 500, about 38; with 1,300 there is more than enough for 45. Ask for more length than the footage supports and the edit stretches and gets worse — which is why it pays to analyse the whole wedding rather than a sample.

Yes. Beyond the reference styles, you can train it on your own delivered edits: it learns how you cut — shot length, pacing, which moments you let breathe — and applies that judgement to the new wedding. You can also ask for a random style to explore versions you would not have thought of.
